Why submit?

Archiving has a long history as a tool for supporting liberation struggles, and in a time of acute repression, recording narratives that reflect the reality on the ground is one way to support a movement for justice now and the future. Footage we have collected has been used by movement lawyers in court cases brought against those in solidarity, and can make a practical difference.

Regularly ‘cleaning’ your devices is a sensible security practice. Use our encrypted form to archive material securely before deleting. If you’re running out of space or moving, and have ever been active in the movement for Palestine Solidarity in Berlin, we are very happy to hear from you about potential submissions.

What can I submit?

You can use the form below to send us videos, still images, scans of physical material (police letters, state communications) digital files or other material.

All material will be assessed for relevance to our collection: as a reminder our current focus is Berlin’s present and historic Palestine Solidarity movement and the repression it faces.

Can I submit in person?

Sure! If you have more than 2GB of material or prefer to bring files in person on a USB or hard drive, get in touch via the contact form.

If you would like to submit physical material e.g. letters, papers, clothing, other objects, you can use the contact form to let us know what you have. We will assess them for acquisition and then organise a drop or or collection in person or via post.

Can I be credited?

Absolutely. We can credit a group, collective or individual using the name of your choice. With our without credit, your contact information is useful to us to check back on details we may have about your submission or if someone needs witness testimony in court. Our submissions are automatically anonymised for security unless you explicitly request credit.

Will the archive ever be published?

Due to the current political climate, there are no plans to publish for the foreseeable future.

In the long term, we hope to make selected parts of the collection publicly searchable, but only where it is appropriate and safe to do so.

Where material has been submitted anonymously, any future publication or use of material will be under a non-commercial creative commons license.

Is this safe?

This form is encrypted and secure. Our risk assessment procedure is regularly revisited and applies to all submitted material. If you are interested in contributing but have a specific question or concern, feel free to get in touch via our contact form. The security of our comrades in the movement is of utmost importance to us.
